Charging away from home.

Sun May 08, 2016 7:11 am

Hi,

I've just got my 2016 Volvo XC90 T8.
Having been a BMW man for many years this was a bold step I thought.

However I love it.

Anyone experienced charging away from home?
I went to IKEA in the UK and found the right plug on the charge station and got the station to say my car was charging but after 45 mins there was nothing put into the battery.

I think it's that the free station is a fast charge and Volvo cars don't accept rapid charging.

And, I think I may need another cable to plug myself into the station and use a different socket.

Any advice is welcome.

So far I have charged using 110v 'standard' outlets only. Two at private residences, one at a hotel which only had two(2) outdoor 110 outlets. In all cases charging completed overnite without issue.
