XC90 success causes Volvo to announce more plug-in hybrids

The Volvo XC90 T8 is selling more than twice as many units as Volvo predicted - initially they had planned on the T8 selling around 10% of total XC90 sales, but it's selling at about 20%.

Volvo is offering a plug-in option next on the S90 sedan and the V90 wagon, and is looking at more plug-ins due to the XC90 success.
The next generation 40 series will also get plug-in versions with simplified PHEV powertrains designed for compact cars.

Also announced is a fully electric vehicle to be released in 2019.
